TI Retiree Christmas Party at Safari Texas Ranch - December 17, 2007

On December 13, we enjoyed the best Christmas Party we have had yet. The party started at 6:30 p.m. The weather was excellent making it a great evening for our yearly event.

The Texas Safari Ranch turned out to be an excellent location for our party. Our ballroom facilities were spacious and very nicely decorated. The waiters dressed in their neat attire of black pants, tuxedo shirt and bow tie attended all of our needs throughout the event.

The seated dinner included China, Glassware and Flatware. The tables, covered by white linen tablecloths, had white linen napkins and a featured a Holiday Centerpiece. The Dinner was excellent. We enjoyed Champagne Chicken, Wild Rice Pilaf, Buttered Cut Corn and Baby Carrots, Dinner Rolls, Chocolate Cake, and Coffee and Tea.

There were a few new wrinkles this year that we haven't had in the past:

· After signing in, we were given a hanging badge instead of the usual 'stick-on badge' (that annoy many ladies).

· We then took photos of each couple by the complimentary Christmas Tree that Texas Safari Ranch provided for us. The photos were mailed or hand delivered to each of the guests.

· We also reserved a banquet room with an extra-large dance floor.

· For the first time, we hired a DJ to entertain us throughout the night. The DJ played songs that guests had requested earlier during the Wednesday luncheon meetings.

All worked out well. Especially the dancing part. I think that just about all guests took advantage of the music and the dance floor at one time or an other. Guests danced to slow music, swing and "The Twist." We had door prizes with six guests winning $25.00 gift certificates. Every lady at the Party was given a party favor -- sorry guys, maybe next year!

Israel Morales told a couple of jokes that brought out some laughs.

The party ended at 9:30 p.m.

Thank you for coming to the TIRET Christmas Party. It would not have been a success without you.
